Safety Nets are manufactured from a high tensile nylon material. We produce nets to specific sizes for construction sites, bridges, walkways etc to catch both people and falling debris. Certificate of conformity is available with safety netting.
Nets that comply with EN 1263-1. According to the construction industry insurer’s definition, safety nets are “nets designed to arrest the fall of persons or objects”. Accordingly, this type of net is used to prevent serious or even fatal injuries to personnel falling from high level working platforms and also to provide protection from falling objects on building sites (e.g. new townhouse and factory construction projects, commercial buildings and house sites etc).
These horizontally rigged safety nets provide effective accident protection as recommended (or even required) by Health and Safety authorities. They are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of European Standard EN 1263-1. Compliance with this standard has been confirmed by testing in independent, approved laboratories.
We have prepared clearly laid-out instructions for the correct installation of safety nets and fall protection nets, which are available on request. We can also offer a range of approved, industry standard, training courses for rigging safety nets and for the inspection of a rigged safety net system.
Annual Testing. Every safety net must be labeled with the name of the manufacturer or importer and also the year and month of manufacture. To maintain compliance with the European Standard, it must be subjected to annual testing to monitor UV degradation. To test the net simply remove one of the UV test cords that are clipped into the net and send it to the manufacturer. Or to a recognized material testing institute, to measure the breaking strength of the cord. The annual test date is clearly indicated on the label attached to the net. Alternatively, send our test cord to us and we will be happy to arrange a testing procedure.
Testing of Safety Nets. European Standard EN 1263-1 was developed in 1966 as the standard for the performance and testing of safety nets and fall protection nets. In 1997 it was adopted by the British Standards Institute, and by standards bodies across Europe. The standard contains product specifications and testing procedures for safety nets, fall protection nets and other rigging and safety net applications.
Safety nets are designed to prevent or arrest the fall of any workers who lose their footing while working at height, and are commonly used in the following situations.
